Earlier today I found out that a freshman girl from my school had committed suicide last night. The cause? Bullies. This girl had been bullied so much that she felt like there was no way out, no help for her, so she left the world.
Things like this really bother even when I don’t personally know the person because I just never understood how people could hurt one person so much that they would feel that way. I just have to take a step back from everything and think “Am I like that too? Am I causing pain on someone?” I’m sure I’ve hurt people before, maybe not in a super cruel way or with the intentions of seriously hurting them, but I know that there have been times where I, too, have made fun of someone.
I encourage you to step back and think about that too. Also, I encourage you to apologize to someone that you have hurt in the past, even it’s just a simple text. Anything will make that person feel better, and prevent something much worse from possibly happening in the future.
Most suicides can be prevented. If you know of anyone who is considering or is planning suicide, please get them help. Go to a trusted adult, counselor, pastor, anyone and tell them. No one deserves to be bullied at all, especially to the point of suicide. If you know of any bullying, please report it.
We have a project that we need YOUR help with! Everyone has hurt in their life, whether it be small or something that is huge and life changing. We want you to share a time in your life where you have been hurt, gone through something bad or tough. Sharing your story is a part of recovering and healing. We want you to make a 1-3 minute video of your story that you want to share. Once you’ve made your video post it on YouTube and email us the link at Healingwlove@live.com. Once we have received all the videos, we will make something beautiful from all the pain that you all have endured.
Deadline for videos is February 15!!
P.S. We will be randomly giving away a Stellar Kart/Philmont Prize Pack to someone who has submitted their story!!!
This isn’t going to make your blog ugly. So reblog an save a life. My name is Hailey and I have self harmed for 11 months now. Please reblog this and show others dealing with self harm that there is a way to stop. THE BUTTERFLY PROJECT.
The Rules are:
1. When you feel like you want to cut, take a marker, pen, or sharpies and draw a butterfly on your arm or hand.
2. Name the butterfly after a loved one, or someone that really wants you to get better.
3. You must let the butterfly fade naturally. NO scrubbing it off.
4. If you cut before the butterfly is gone, you’ve killed it. If you dont cut, it lives.
5. If you have more than one butterfly, cutting kills all of them.
6. Another person may draw them on you. These butterflies are extra special. Take good care of them.
7. Even if you don’t cut, feel free to draw a butterfly anyways, to show your support. If you do this, name it after someone you know that cuts or is suffering right now, and tell them. It could help.
I like this idea!
